GCP CUD Management
GCP Reservation Purchase Management
For customers using GCP Committed Use discounts (CUDs), you can view information about inventory, coverage, utilization, and cost savings due to CUDs.
1. CUD Summary
You can check the full summary information about CUD. You can select the inquiry period and region to search.
(1) For Resource based CUD, you can get a summary of each type for CPU, RAM, GPU, and SSD of Compute Engine. (Currently supported only for Compute Engine.)
The rows displayed in the table only provide information about types that have usage or a contract, not all types. If there is on-demand usage, it will be displayed in the table, even if there is no contract.
(2) For Spend-based CUD, you can get a summary for each service. (Currently supported only for Cloud SQL.)
A detailed description of each column can be viewed as a tooltip by hovering the mouse over it.
2. Resource based CUD
You can check detailed information about resource-based CUD. You can search by selecting the query period, commitment type, and region. (Currently, only Compute Engine is supported.)
(You can search by including only the projects that are subject to the agreement scope. The projects that are subject to the agreement scope mean all projects that can be shared with the agreement regardless of whether the agreement is used or not.)
(1) You can check average coverage, average utilization, savings, and daily active status commitment information.
(2) Resource based CUD Daily Usage chart shows daily information on committed usage, on-demand usage, and committed total.
If you change the chart type selection box at the top right of the chart from Daily → Project, you can view information on committed usage, on-demand usage, and committed total by project rather than by day.
Each billing account is divided into areas with vertical dividers, the leftmost area of each area is the total of all selected projects for that billing account, and the charts to the right of that area show usage information for each project.
(3) The Daily Coverage chart and Daily Utilization chart show information on coverage and usage by day/project, respectively.
(4) The table below shows the details of the agreement for each project.
The Start date, End date, Name, Status, and Auto-renew on the right side of the table columns are CUD inventory information. (To view this information, you must register the inventory collection of the project that purchased CUD.)
A detailed description of each column can be viewed as a tooltip by hovering the mouse over it.
Resource based CUD table terminology explanation
Resource Based CUD Table Terminology
Billing Account: Sub-billing account name (You can add Billing Account ID by pressing the Columns button.)
Term: Contract purchase period (1 year or 3 years)
Coverage (%): Discounted Cost / Equivalent On-Demand Cost
Utilization (%): Committed usage / Committed total amount
Total Commitment Amount: Total amount of the total purchased commitments
On-Demand Usage: On-demand usage that meets requirements
Committed Usage: The amount of usage to which the commitment applies.
All usage: On-Demand usage + Committed usage
Equivalent On-Demand Cost: All usage * On-Demand unit price
Discounted cost: Committed usage * On-Demand unit price
Commitment Cost: Total Commitment Amount * Unit Commitment Price
Savings: Discounted Cost - Committed Cost
Start date: Purchase date of the contract (inventory registration required)
End date: Contract expiration date (inventory registration required)
Auto-renew: Whether to automatically renew (inventory registration required)
3. Spend based CUD
You can check detailed information about the spending-based CUD. You can search by selecting the search period and region. (The service currently supports only Cloud SQL.)
(You can search by including only the projects that are subject to the agreement scope. The projects that are subject to the agreement scope mean all projects that can be shared with the agreement regardless of whether the agreement is used or not.)
(1) You can check the average coverage, average utilization, contract cost, and savings.
(2) The Spend based CUD Daily Usage chart shows daily information on commitment-based costs, non-commitment-based costs, and commitment-based on-demand rates.
If you change the chart type selection box on the top right of the chart from Daily → Project, you can view information on commitment-applied costs, non-commitment-applied costs, and on-demand rate commitments by project rather than by day.
Unlike resource-based CUD, spend-based CUD provides an additional chart for commitment allocation rather than project utilization in the Daily Utilization chart.
The Commitment Allocation Chart shows the percentage of the total commitments in the billing account that have been allocated to each project.
(4) The table below shows the details of the agreement for each project.
A detailed description of each column can be viewed as a tooltip by hovering the mouse over it.
