AWS Reservation Purchase Management

For customers using AWS's RI (Reserved Instance) and SP (Savings Plan), you can check information such as purchase status and occupancy/utilization rate for RI and SP.

1. RI/SP Summary

You can see a complete summary of your reservation purchases. You can check the coverage and utilization for RI and Savings Plan by service.

2. Reservations

  • Conditions for checking reservation purchase coverage and usage

    • Select a reservation purchase: Choose AWS Reservation or AWS Savings Plans.

    • Select a search target for your reservation purchase: Choose one of Coverage, Utilization, or Recommendation.

    • Search Period: Select the search period. (Default: one week)

    • Service: Select the service you wish to purchase a reservation for. (RI: EC2, ElastiCache, Elasticsearch Service, Redshift, RDS, Savings Plans: EC2, Lambda, Compute, EC2Instance)


Understanding reservation purchase inquiry

  • RI Coverage: ①Overall average coverage (%), ②Total On-Demand cost

  • RI Utilization: ① On-Demand cost of the time used, ② Total cost when RI is applied, ③ Savings (On-Demand cost - RI cost), ④ Expected savings when replacing the total time used with RI. ③, ④ If the costs are the same, it means that RI 00% is being utilized.

  • RI Recommendation: ① Expected monthly savings upon purchasing RI, ② On-Demand costs after purchasing RI, ③ Ratio of ① amount / ② amount * 100

  • Saving Plan Coverage: ①Total average Coverage (%), ②Total On-Demand costs that could not use the Saving Plan

  • Saving Plan Utilization: ①On-Demand cost of time used, ②Saving Plan cost, ③Saving amount (On-Demand cost - Saving Plan cost)

  • Saving Plan Recommendation: ① On-Demand cost for the time used, ② Expected monthly expenditure after purchasing a Saving Plan, ③ Expected monthly savings after purchasing a Saving Plan

  • Average Coverage: Savings Plans account for 77% of total resources

  • Total On-Demande Costs without Savings Plans: Cost of On-Demand resources for which Savings Plans can be additionally applied.

  • Coverage by Cloud Account: Coverage for the selected cloud account unit

  • Savings Plans Coverage cy Day and Account No: Subscription purchased per cloud account, purchase conditions per subscription, Savings Plans benefit cost, On-Demand cost, Coverage(%) provided
